Overview Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS)
Cardholder data remains a highly sought-after commodity by those with malicious intent. To address security of credit cards the PCI Security Standards Council (PCI SSC) have created standards and technical and operational requirements that need be complied with. These became know as the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS). The PCI DSS standards are revised every three years as of 1 Jannuary 2015, companies will only be able to use Version 3.0 for compliance reporting.
